Setup
How do I enable the Flickey keyboard?
Open Settings โ General โ Keyboard โ Keyboards โ Add New Keyboardโฆ and choose Flickey. Then, in any app, hold the ๐ globe key on the keyboard and pick Flickey. The Flickey app has a button that jumps straight to the right Settings page.
How do I turn on voice typing?
Two steps: open the Flickey app and tap Enable Dictation (this grants microphone and speech permissions), then turn on Allow Full Access in Settings โ General โ Keyboard โ Keyboards โ Flickey. iOS requires Full Access for a keyboard to use the mic โ Flickey uses it for nothing else.
Gestures
What are all the gestures?
Swipe left anywhere on the keys: delete the last word. Swipe right: space. Flick a letter up: its capital. Flick down: its number/symbol. Hold delete and drag: the Time Scrubber โ left eats words, right restores them. Hold space and slide right: accept a Ghost Finish suggestion word by word. Double-tap shift: caps lock.
Why does the keyboard suggest endings for my sentences?
That's Ghost Finish. It learns from sentences you send often โ entirely on your device โ and only appears when you hold the space bar. It never changes what you already typed. You can turn it off in the Flickey app.
The keys feel like they've moved slightly. Is that a bug?
That's Thumb Drift: keys migrate a few pixels toward where your thumbs actually land, which reduces misses. You can reset the map or disable the feature in the Flickey app.
Privacy & data
Does Flickey see what I type?
Nothing you type leaves your phone. Flickey has no servers and no analytics. Learning data (frequent phrases, tap positions) is stored only on your device and can be erased in the app. See the Privacy Policy.
Why does Flickey ask for Full Access?
Solely because iOS requires it for the microphone (voice typing). Every other feature works with Full Access off. Flickey contains no networking code either way.
How do I erase what Flickey has learned?
Open the Flickey app โ Your data โ Reset learned phrases and/or Reset Thumb Drift map. Deleting the app removes everything.
