Privacy Policy
The short version: Flickey collects no data. Nothing you type, say, or do with Flickey is transmitted to us or to anyone else. There are no servers, no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs.
What Flickey stores — on your device only
To make typing faster, Flickey keeps a small amount of data in your device's local storage (an Apple "App Group" container shared only between the Flickey app and its keyboard). This data never leaves your device:
- Learned phrases — sentences you send repeatedly, used for the Phrase Magnets bar and Ghost Finish suggestions.
- Thumb Drift map — average tap positions per key, used to nudge keys toward your grip.
- Your settings — feature toggles like key click sounds.
You can erase the learned phrases and the Thumb Drift map at any time from the Flickey app ("Your data" section), or remove everything by deleting the app.
Microphone and speech recognition
Flickey's voice typing uses Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio is processed by iOS on your phone; Flickey does not record, store, or transmit your voice. The microphone is only active while the listening screen is visible, and you can stop it with a tap. Voice typing is optional — the keyboard is fully functional without granting microphone access.
About "Allow Full Access"
iOS requires the "Allow Full Access" permission for a keyboard extension to use the microphone. That is the only reason Flickey requests it. Flickey contains no networking code: even with Full Access enabled, nothing you type is sent anywhere. Every feature except the mic key works with Full Access turned off.
What we never do
- We do not collect, sell, or share any personal data — because we never receive any.
- We do not log keystrokes.
- We do not use analytics, crash reporters, or tracking of any kind.
- We do not show ads.
Children
Flickey does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If we ever change how Flickey handles data, we will update this page and the "Effective" date above before the change ships. A change that introduced any data collection would be prominently disclosed in the app itself.
